Darlene’s goal is to help men and women gain confidence and strength, emotionally, mentally and physically while making fitness attainable, affordable and approachable.
She is the owner of RISE Training LLC and Girl Up, THE fitness app for women. She is a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer and AFAA (Athletics and Fitness Association of America) Certified Group Fitness Instructor. In addition to providing virtual and in-person one on one and small group training, she teaches a variety of class formats including Boxing, Barbells, TRX, Bootcamp and HIIT.
She has a Psychology degree from Penn State and worked in Human Resources in several capacities over the course of 15 years, before starting RISE Training. In fact, she only started working out after her second child was born! Working out was one of the last things on her mind because she was struggling with things like confidence, self-worth and positivity. It wasn’t until a friend of hers forced her to go to her gym with a 30-day gym pass, that she even considered stepping into a gym. Talk about being pushed to face your fears head-on! Darlene is thankful to this day for that friend because it changed her life and mindset for the better!
Because of her positive experiences in the world of fitness, her hope is that she touches members and maybe helps them gain what they need from fitness… maybe it’s community, maybe it’s confidence, maybe it’s having the clarity to take a chance on changing something in their lives.
